Justin Zitt FRIGO feat. Sebastian Gille | Release-Konzert

Die zeitgenössische Jazz-Szene ist nicht eben arm an Klaviertrios, trotzdem finden sich immer wieder Akteure, die dem scheinbar vertrauten Format neue Aspekte abgewinnen und durch eigenständige Ideen verblüffen. Zu eben diesen Künstlern gehört Justin Zitt, der mit seinem Trio Frigo ein facetten- und klangfarbenreiches Debüt präsentiert.
Als Pianist und Komponist bewegt sich Zitt am Puls des Modern Creative-Jazz, verarbeitet bemerkenswert souverän Einflüsse der Neuen Musik und des Jazz, kreiert weite Bögen und verliert dabei nie die Adressaten, also das Publikum, aus dem Blick. Seine Stücke brillieren mit polyrhythmischen Strukturen und der Mehrdimensionalität stark erweiterter Harmonik; bei aller detailscharfen Ausklügelung wirken sie stets lebendig und vermitteln eine Intensität, die intellektuell wie emotional befeuert wird.

Für das offizielle Release-Konzert im LOFT, wo das Album 2024 auch entstand, lädt das Trio Sebastian Gille ein. Der Kölner Saxophonist besitzt eine unverkennbare Stimme am Instrument und wird das Trio mit seinem intensiven und virtuosen Spiel auf spannende Art ergänzen.
Sebastian Gille ist vielfach ausgezeichnet, unter anderem mit dem SWR Jazzpreis, wobei die Fachpresse ihn als einen der „ausdrucksstärksten Saxophonisten unserer Zeit“ lobt.

Die Konzerte im LOFT beginnen in der Regel gegen 20 Uhr - das LOFT öffnet jeweils um 19.30 Uhr.
Ausnahmen - zB an Sonntagen - sind möglich.

The contemporary jazz scene is not exactly lacking in piano trios, yet there are always performers who bring new aspects to this seemingly familiar format and amaze listeners with their original ideas. One such artist is Justin Zitt, who presents a multifaceted and richly tonal debut with his trio Frigo.

As a pianist and composer, Zitt has his finger on the pulse of modern creative jazz, incorporating influences from new music and jazz with remarkable confidence, creating broad arcs without ever losing sight of his audience. His pieces shine with polyrhythmic structures and the multidimensionality of greatly expanded harmonies; despite their detailed sophistication, they always seem lively and convey an intensity that is fueled both intellectually and emotionally.

The trio has invited Sebastian Gille to perform at the official release concert at LOFT, where the album 2024 was also recorded. The Cologne-based saxophonist has an unmistakable voice on his instrument and will complement the trio in an exciting way with his intense and virtuoso playing.
Sebastian Gille has won numerous awards, including the SWR Jazz Prize, with the trade press praising him as one of the “most expressive saxophonists of our time.”


The concerts at the LOFT will generally start at around 8 pm CEST - the LOFT will open at 7.30 pm CEST.
Exceptions - eg on Sundays - are possible.
